Huggy Buddy Infomercial Annoys Kids of All Ages
The many Pillow Pets rip off products usually feature really annoying jingles. The infomercial for Huggy Buddy, however, dispenses with the jingle entirely but manages to be even more annoying by having a 30-year-old woman narrate the whole thing using some sort of cutesy toddler voice:
With Huggy Buddy your child will start saying, “Mom, I can’t sleep. Please get me my microwave-heated aromatherapy-infused doll.” Kids do love the scent of lavender chamomile oil almost as much as they love stuffed animals!

I have a horrible feeling that this might be the narrator’s real voice. We had a teaching assistant at school who sounded exactly the same, apart from the fact she was a Geordie.
If it’s a faked voice, I really can’t understand the logic behind it. Is it supposed to drive adult viewers to suicide or just really, really patronise the kids?

I like how they couldn’t film a child in an actual car for some reason, so instead greenscreen in a really awful 3D rendering of a car.
