Catch It: Try Pronouncing the Name of this Cat Litter Box Product
February 10th, 2009 by Paul Lucas
In my post on the Tiddy Bear commercial, I discussed how the Tiddy Bear might be the funniest “As Seen On TV” product name ever—alongside such greats as Nad’s and Fridge Balls. Reader Gutbucket Lardner left a comment about a commercial from the early Nineties for a kitty litter scooper called Catch It; when you pronounce the name, it sounds like what the Catch It helps you scoop up. Fortunately, reader Phoenix found the link to for the video of this glorious ad:
Obviously, the name Catch It was an intentional double-entendre. I love the name of the CatchIt and I love the low-budget, ghetto production quality of the commercial.
I bet a lot of TV stations refused to air this commercial because of fears that people would hear the wrong thing. And I bet a lot of those same stations were gleefully airing ads for the Girls Gone Wild videos a few years later. (Hey, it’s not hard core; so it’s not really porn.)

I think Klee Irwin uses one of these with his four year old daughter.

Man,they got to be more creative than that.I thought pooper scooper was cool for doggies or Vapoorize from the movie,”Envy”! Seen it anyone? How about moonpie fiddle paddle or sunny gummy launcher? Just a thought haha.

Here in Canada, our version of this commercial had the same visuals, but the voiceover was done by Dini Petty—a veteran Canadian newswoman who, at the time, had her own daytime talkshow, on the CTV network.
