More Magic Bullet: Mimi’s Doppelganger
June 5th, 2007 Paul Lucas
In describing all the glory that is the Magic Bullet infomercial, I was unable to discuss one very interesting guest among those invited to Mick and Mimi’s shindig.
There is a blonde lady who goes unnamed, though she appears to be with Ike, the guy who sports a Greg Brady hairdo and whines about getting a “real breakfast.”
This woman has the same hair color as Mimi, the same hair style as Mimi, and a floral sun-dress similar to the one Mimi wears. It seems as if she’s trying to be Mimi’s twin.
Look at this image of Mimi on the left and this unnamed guest on the right:

Who knows what kind of twisted fantasy that sick freak Mick invited this woman over to fulfill!
Actually, the producers of the Magic Bullet infomercial have her on to express amazement at absolutely everything that goes on. Because she is seated to the right of Berman at the counter, she has many occasions to be astonished at whatever he does.
Here is her wide-eyed reaction to the fact that Berman enjoys the salsa made with the Magic Bullet:

Here she exhibits an unseemly amount of empathy when Berman says, “Yuck, I hate broccoli!”

When Mick and Mimi reveal that the Magic Bullet “self-blending party mugs” come with “colored comfort lips” so that everyone can tell which mug is theirs, this woman absolutely looks like her head is about to explode:

Talk about easily impressed!

I was going to blog about this, but you beat me to it! Oh well. I’m going to go order more Ruby Reds now. (You really should have a review of THAT one. Priceless. It’s a pity though that I can’t find the video anywhere online!)

Are you kidding me? Plainly obvious that this is Mimi’s sister. That’s why they look alike and dress alike. They most likely bought both of those dresses when they went shopping together at Loehmann’s the other day. I think there’s even a reference to their relationship somewhere in the dialog…

I always thought that this “unnamed guest” was named Tina. Consider that there is a couple named Fred and Wilma, obviously in connection to the Flinstones. So, considering the guy’s name is Ike … what comes to mind is Ike and Tina Turner.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for posting pix of my all-time favorite infomercial!!! No matter what time it is, I’ll stop and watch the first 15 mins of this, because it’s simply TOO priceless. I’m completely enamored with “Wilma” and her priceless comments and expressions…I’ll pay anyone who can tell me who she is! I wish you could include audio clips here, like Wilma’s “Right, right, right” and Ike’s “That’s so NICE!”, because they deserve special mention as well. Wow, I can’t believe there are others out there who are just as freaky as I am!

I have watched the Magic Bullet infomercial more times than I care to admit because I am *fascinated* with this motley crew and their stunned amazement at this gadget. They appear to not get out much if this cousin of a blender transfixes them to this extreme degree.
One of my favorite parts is when Mimi’s doppelganger hits her lover/boyfriend with the back of her hand in a “getta load of THIS” gesture as she is yet again astonished and amazed at yet another trick the MB can do. And who can’t help but adore that lovable curmudgeon Hazel and her magical lit-but-not-smoking cigarette? And Berman… all I am going to say about Berman is that I am gonna marry that man one day!!

This is one infomercial that really is sweet on
protraying characters. It just also happens to be one of a very few that I watch. And really! Who is this other young blonde woman? Her sister? And Hazel! You can’t get any better than that for
character acting!

Blondie’s name in the Magic Bullet To Go infomercial is Tina…..so an obvious homage to Ike and Tina Turner.
And I saved the worst for last……in the Magic Bullet To Go infomercial, Berman and Hazel are - gasp - lovers. You may now puke.

Darth,
Thanks for the info. I still haven’t be able to see the “Magic Bullet To Go” infomercial, but I am desperate to watch it for myself!
Berman and Hazel as lovers?! Talk about bumping uglys!

i think all these “normal” everyday people are actually coming down from a crazy night of meth induced, unprotected orgy. obviously ike is the man since the first thing he asked for was a “real” breakfast. berman filmed, the unnamed girl fluffed, wilma directed, fred was the grip, and mick and mimi got freaky for the camera. after an amazing night what a better way to wake up than to a n AMAZING product.

I knew “Ike” I got his autograph the day he left for Hollywood. Saw him on the commercial last night. Wow I can’t wait to see what I can get for it on ebay. HEH!

I think Hazel is supposed to be Hazel from the 1960’s TV series http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hazel_%28TV_series%29

I saw this infommercial again last night way, way late.

This has to be the greatest infomercial of all time. My dad and I noticed the creepy similarities between Mimi and that girl who looks like her twin, even before I discovered this site! I love Hazel’s line:
“Dinner’s always a production!”
Other than the Time Life infomercials, this is the best one.
Comment by Harrison February 10th, 2008 at 11:38 am
The funniest thing about this is when Mimi says: “So everybody can get…… exactly what they….. (longest imaginable pause)….. WANT!”
Comment by Toke March 14th, 2008 at 7:58 pm
My favourite exchange:
(Mick): “Errr, nachos anybody?
(Fred): “Oh yeah, those are my favourites!”

The Blonde is none other than Mimi Standing in as a double…Like the Patty Duke Show. Movie Magic.

I was watching an old episode of Blind Date on the Fox Reality channel yesterday, and I’m almost positive I saw “Tina” (Mimi’s Doppelganger) on it. Her name was (I think) Kristen and she was incredibly bored with her date from the moment he picked her up (maybe he should’ve blended smoothies and dips to entertain her).
Comment by Markdown July 8th, 2008 at 11:26 am
Excellent info. I’ll try to track down that Blind Date episode.

This infomercial is still airing, unbelievable! I get the biggest charge out of how everything they need as ingredients are always just magically (and neatly) displayed on platters, just, snap you’re fingers and presto!! Magic food, to go into the Magic Bullet. They never mention anything about the prep needed prior to using this thing, as if the food just preps all by itself.
Comment by Joe Marx September 22nd, 2008 at 9:30 pm
I knew Mimi a few years ago! She was dating this guy that wrote for Sex Court, they were supposed to get married. She’s really into the raw food diet.
Comment by Amber Berglund September 23rd, 2008 at 8:15 am
This infomercial is priceless! That couple named Ike and Tina…Ike looks uncannily like a real-life version of the Archie comic character. And did anyone get the Fred and Wilma connection? Fred and Wilma Flinstone? But the best actors in the bunch were Hazel and Berman. They were the old soldiers. And catch when Mick makes that milkshake towards the end of the infomercial…and as he pours, he says “Enough for the entire family”…what family? Their little weekend bunch? lol.
Comment by Polly Williams November 22nd, 2008 at 12:00 pm
My favorite part is the obviously frustrated wife’s response to his adding curry powder to the chicken salad…”curry powder on everything” and her laugh…
If there was ever a nominee for an award this infomercial is it…it’s like a bad accident; I can’t help but watch it everytime I see it.
Comment by Joe January 16th, 2009 at 4:46 am
Who is the actress who plays mini? And isn’t she in another infomercial about some type of arch support system.
Comment by Tino January 16th, 2009 at 12:34 pm
Her name is Mimi Umidon and she is also in the WalkFit infomercial.
Comment by Paul Lucas January 16th, 2009 at 3:20 pm
Oh my god, this is hilarious. I love the Magic Bullet infomercial.
Comment by Canaduck March 24th, 2009 at 9:32 pm
Maybe someday I’ll watch the rest of the infomercial. I can’t take my eyes off of Mimi’s cleavage. WOW! What a pair.
