Snuggie for Dogs Lets You Humiliate Your Pet

You’ve already made yourself and your whole family look like dorks by forcing the Snuggie Blanket with Sleeves on them. So the only thing left is to embarrass your family dog too:

That’s the kind of product that reminds us just how thin the line between satire and reality is in the infomercial world. But just to clear things up the Snuggie for Dogs is a real product that you can buy for yourself.

I love that dog popping out a woman’s purse wearing a Snuggie. If you’re stuffing your dog inside your handbag, then maybe an oxygen tank is a more urgent accessory than a canine-sized blanket with sleeves.

The free bonus for this product is a “talking dog tag.” It is a very appropriate product to go along with the Snuggie for Dogs, because as soon as you manage to get this thing on your pet, he’s going to run as far away from your house as his little doggie legs will take him.

Although the talking dog tag is a much more appropriate bonus for this product than the “book light” was for the original Snuggie, I think some other products might make even better bonuses:

Potty Patch: The indoor doggie potty that looks like grass. You might as well get used to your dog going to the bathroom in your house, because she’s going to be too embarrassed to go outside wearing a Snuggie.

Doggie Lover Doll: From the sun and sex soaked land of Brazil, comes the DoggieLoverDoll, a rubber sex doll for dogs. This product, which comes equipped with canine sex lube, promises to give your dogs an alternative to humping legs and furniture as well as providing “a better life, satisfying their repressed sexuality, in some cases for many years.” The Doggie Lover Doll would be an ideal bonus product because, let’s face it, if your dog is wearing a Snuggie ain’t no bitches gonna mate with him.

  • I just woke up my mother-in-law by laughing at this.

  • I wonder which is more disgusting to clean: The Potty Patch or the Doggy Lover Doll?

  • I laughed too when I saw this.

Although I have to admit, after seeing this, I wouldn’t put it past them to invent a snuggie for cats.

Even then I wouldn’t buy it for my cats. I’d be arrested for animal cruelty and not to mention, my cats have better taste in fashion than the people that created the snuggie!

  • I was actually looking into getting one of these for my small dog just for the fact of how easy it is to put on. But after reading this, I might be thought of as the worst mom in the world! This is a pretty funny piece. I was laughing to the point that I almost cried.

  • I’ve always thought people who put clothing on their pets should be arrested for animal cruelty, but now I realize that the true villains are those who would purchase the Snuggie Dog! Also, the Doggie Lover Doll made me throw up in my mouth a little.

  • I love and respect my dog. Never in a million years would I put a Snuggie on her. Even if I did she’d turn on me in an instant and with good reason.

  • Uh…wouldn’t it be just simpler to save the dough & get the stupid pooch neutered?
And why get a “Snuggie” when you could just wear a bathrobe backwards….same thing! Boy these infomercial people are really reaching! Makes me almost mysty-eyed for Ron Popeil’s “Pocket Fisherman” (‘almost’ being the operative word). Please do a comentary on that one…and that thingy that scrambles the egg INSIDE the shell…tedious & stupid…why not just crack eggs in a blender, dummy! Gotta love that Popeil weirdo.

  • No way! I just saw an ad for this in my Gmail and then I came here to see if you were aware of this idiotic product. Apparently so.

  • the first thing i thought when i saw the snuggie for dogs was ‘…but they have fur’

  • ok, ok. i agree. it looks ridiculous. but i have a weimaraner and live in southern california and the bitch is always cold. if i cover her in a blanket at night, she is super happy. problem is, the blanket eventually falls off and she’s shivering again. while, in theory, the snuggie for dogs should address this problem, if you look at it, it’s a pretty unsubstantial piece of fleece. drafty, doesn’t cover the legs, which are more likely to be cold, etc… i wouldn’t take my dog out in public in clothing, especially not hot pink or bright blue velcro-in-back fleece attire. but in all honesty, it’s a little less ridiculous of an idea for your pet or baby (think onesies) than it is for adults. adult humans are the ones who should really be embarrassed in one of these things.

  • Leave it to a foreign country to create something like the Doggie Lover Doll.

(I can’t help but wonder how many animal “lovers” bought this for themselves.)
