FlowBee Infomercial Review Now Online

Rick Hunts on the FlowBee infomercialIf you watched TV infomercials in the 1980s, you probably had a good laugh at the FlowBee. The FlowBee promised to save people money by letting them get home hair cuts through a gadget attached to a vacuum hose!

For years I have kicked myself for never taping this classic infomercial when it aired. Recently, however, I found video of the FlowBee infomercial that someone had posted online. And I can tell you that the infomercial hosted by carpenter and FlowBee creator Rick Hunts proves nearly as funny at the product itself.

So at long last I have written a full review of the “FlowBee Home Haircutting Show.” Check it out: FlowBee Infomercial

And don’t miss the video at the bottom of the page.

  • I remember my sister telling me that when my aunt told her she bought a FlowBee my sister had to try soooo hard to keep from laughing right in her face!

  • Memories…. This product looked so stupid when I used to watch the commercial… As a child I thought, “Who would use this?!!” Now I wonder about that for just about every infomercial I see.

  • What the heck are you talking about? I own a flow-bee, and still use it to this day It works great. I have VERY naturally curly hair, and could never get a good haircut at a saloon. Don’t poke fun at a product that you have not tried.

  • Judy, I don’t doubt that you could not get a good haircut at a saloon.

  • I have used flowbee since it first came out. I love it. I like my hair even all over so it suits me. All I ever got at salons was regret at going there. If someone’s gonna ruin my hair let it be me. At least I don’t have to pay someone to do it. I’ll do it for free. I’ve never been sorry for buying the flowbee.

  • I had so many bad cuts and when I found someone to cut my hair good I would loose them as they moved on with their lives. I have owned a Flowbee since it came out. I wore out the attachments. I called the company and they sent me new ones for free and they paid the shipping. I married and she laughed at me. I laughed at her for going to a salon. Three trip to the salon will pay for a life time of free cuts with a Flowbee. I cut both my sons hair with it. Hurricane Katrina destroyed it. I now own the new model with the small vacuum. Perfect addition to a great machine.
I take a shower, I brush my teeth, I cut my hair, I get dressed and leave.
    What’s not to like.
Only a fool would NOT have one.

  • Hey, no laughing at the Flowbee. I bought one years ago and it still works great – my teen sons actually prefer me to cut their hair with it rather than go to a barber. I’m a mom and a utility company manager and have been cutting my hair for years with the flowbee. People are gobsmacked when they find out I use one – often they won’t believe it because my hair always looks great (I can keep it exactly the way I want it all the time and it doesn’t cost me anything). This is one gadget that DOES work – plus it sucks up the hair so no mess. We’ve saved thousands on hairdressers and barbers over the years our family of five has owned it. By the way, we have a range of hair types – from very coarse, thick and tightly curled, to very fine and straight, and it does a good job on all of them. Don’t judge this product by the infomercial.

  • I always thought that this thing looked like a joke but about a year ago out of curiosity I bought a used machine at a flea market for $5. I tired it out and found that it works great. I and my son have curly hair and the machine keeps us and the floor from looking like we are in the middle of a sheep shearing party! My boyfriend uses the machine as well and feels that he gets a better cut than clippers. Yes it’s surprising but this bit of weirdness is actually alright!
