I’ve uploaded a new video clip from the Richard Simmons: Farewell to Fat infomercial. After sweatin’ up a storm, fitness and diet guru Richard Simmons meets some overweight emotionally-distraught woman at a mall. He makes an earnest promise to ‘help’ her lose weight but doesen’t even bother to get her phone number—so has to unleash a big campaign to find her so she can tape a testimonial for his latest exercise videos.

“he gives you the will to go on” is a great quote. lmao! I also love how he gives her a big’o smacking kiss on the cheek.

It reminded me of a “700 Club” type video, where they have a despondent person watching the 700 club, praying with Pat Robertson, and sending in a big cheque, and once the cheque clears in few days they show the person receiving the miracle that they paid, er, prayed for.
That being said, I have to admit that the clip did bring tears to my eyes.
