The Identity Stronghold Commercial’s Talking Credit Card Can Fuel Nightmares
April 27th, 2010 Paul Lucas
Recently on Anthony Sullivan’s Twitter feed, he mentioned that he was working on a commercial for a product called ID Stronghold that would be featured on the upcoming season of Pitchmen. After doing some research I found out that Identity Stronghold is a protective sleeve that blocks a credit card containing an RFID chip (often called a “smart card”) from being scanned by thieves.
I also discovered this attempt at a TV commercial by the makers of Identity Stronghold.:
Now we know why they need Sully’s help in making a new commercial! That talking credit card is truly the stuff of nightmares. Fortunately, this spot never aired widely; otherwise many a parent would spend late nights trying to help a child forget the haunting image of a credit card with a moving mouth.
The talking credit card of the Identity Stronghold infomercial recalls another product with a “mouth” - the Fleshlight sex toy, which you can see in motion in this video:

I took one look at the guy with the glasses and I thought, “So that’s what Andy Dick is up to these days!” The rest of the infomercial is just so bad; It’s too bad to even played as a parody of bad infomercials.

I particularly enjoyed the bit at the very end, where he is now content with his credit card and sashays off into the sunset…
