A Pillow for Your Tablet Computer? Co-Z, Lappy, and GoGo All Get the Same Idea

Sometimes different infomercial marketers get the same dumb idea at the exact same time. This time the idea is to take your sleek and portable tablet computer and strap a bulky cushion to the back of it. Co-Z, Lappy, and GoGo all promise to turn your iPad or Android tablet into an ersatz laptop by propping it up on a pillow:

I never realized that watching videos of sneezing pandas and otters holding hands was taking such a severe toll on the bodies of so many Web surfers.

The most appalling moment is when the Co-Z commercial insists their product is “perfect for executives who work at home.” Are there really some corporate executives who work from home but don’t own a proper desktop or laptop computer? Tablets are basically toys for preteen girls to gossip on Facebook and for old ladies to watch funny cat videos! If you are an executive trying to do real work with a tablet and a Co-Z then do yourself a favor and point your iPad to Ameritrade and short as many shares of your own company’s stock as possible.

  • The Co-Z says it can be put in the washing machine but they don’t warn people to remove their tablets first. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

  • Evidently you have never sat and tried to use a tablet for reading or other extended period of time. As light as they are my wrist gets tired as hell holding it.

  • I want to buy one for my wife, because she’s ill and it is a pain to hold the tablet. But the way they are promoting these pillows gives me the heebie jeebies.

  • Without an active cooling system, it’s not wise to put your iDevice in/against something with no airflow for extended periods.
