I’m Sure the Euro Braider Isn’t Painful at All

Broadcast infomercials have a long history of promoting beauty products that could double as torture devices—such as the legendary Rejuvenique electrified mask and Facial Flex mouth exerciser. The Euro Braider is another commercial in that hallowed tradition. The makers of the Euro Briader believe they can convince women to attach their hair to this device and let it spin their locks in a rapid circular motion:

The best part of the commercial has to be when they show a girl getting her hair braided “the old fashioned way” in a state of pain and agony—while the girls getting their hair twisted in the Euro Braider are all smiles.

Men, if you are ever upset with your woman, don’t pull her hair—that will get you a domestic violence arrest and possible appearance on Cops. Just give her the Euro Braider as a “present” and let it do the dirty work for you.

A great idea for follow-up marketing would be to offer customers of the Euro Braider a membership in the Wig of the Month Club. After all, they’re going to need it.

  • I wouldn’t use it. Reminds me of getting my hair caught in a lawn mower or something.

  • In what universe is it cool or stylish to have a million tiny braids?? Yes, in the nineties it was pretty hip, but other than little girls with extremely curly hair, I don’t remember the last time I saw someone running around with 20 tiny braids as a fashionable hair style (held by multicolored rubber bands, no less)

  • Oh great! A new tool to add to my S&M repertoire.

  • I’m pretty sure you could get the same results with much less pain by plopping an O-Cedar mop onto your head. Frankly though, I’d go for true chic with a Libman Wonder mop.

  • 25 years ago I had one of these hair twist things. I came with a Barbie with extra long hair. It was cool when I was 10 years old. But who wears those twists now?

  • they aren’t even real “braids”… it just twists your hair together, which will just untwist itself lol
