Cathy Mitchell and GT Xpress 101 Inspire a Blog
December 13th, 2007 Paul Lucas
We know that many people watch Cathy Mitchell infomercials for the emotional comfort. Now it seems that Cathy Mitchell and her GT Xpress 101 have inspired an entire blog.
It’s called the Semicircular Vegan, and blog author Paula explains:
I guess I’ll start by admitting that I <3 infomercials...But my all-time favorite, and obsession for the last few years, is the GT Xpress 101, endorsed by Cathy Mitchell: TV Personality and Food Expert...Basically, it’s like any other sort of Foreman Grill type food cooker. It heats on the top and the bottom, but the catch is, ALL YOUR FOOD COMES OUT IN A SEMICIRCLE!...This blog will be dedicated to my adventures making vegan, semicircular food in this device. I will try and replicate some of the recipes that came in the handy cookbook and also create my own semicircular dishes.
An entire blog dedicated to making vegan recipes in the GT Xpress 101? Talk about your narrow niches!
Maybe someone will start a blog about all the mixed drinks they make with their Magic Bullet…if they get out of their stupor long enough to get to a keyboard.

…wow. She’s a pretty big deal. She should be on some more infomercials or the shopping channel or oprah or whatever. It would be great to see how far she gets.

Hello… I’m a brand new member and am seriously considering getting a GTXpress101. I’m wondering if anyone knows what type of coating (Teflon, Quantanium etc) is on the cooking plates? My wife is concerned about the coating shedding and I’ve also read some reviews that claim the coating came off. Looking forward to hearing from you. Paul

Any idea on who that Joe Fowler guy is who does infomercials with her? As well as many others.

Do not buy this junk…the coating is so thin …it comes off after only a few uses.

I own the GTExpress 101 and I love the thing. I bought every one in my family from neices and nephews, parents and my daughter one to give as Christmas gifts. This machine does exactly what it says it does. I always spray a paper towel with cooking spray and wipe it before I cook and a little after I clean it. Nothing ever sticks and it comes out perfect everytime. Use it all the time. Everyone in my family loved it. Got myself another and another for my daughter. Great product. Can’t wait to try the new red machine with timer she is advertising!!!!!

I have to agree with Vicki, I love this machine too. I cook for 1 and sometimes company, never had a problem with non stick coating, have had this about 3 years now am trying to locate the newest version red one w/timer and 1 full well instead of the divided one. Cleaning is quick & easy usually just a damp cloth or paper towel will do, have had some over flow (cakes mostly) but clean up still pretty easy, just have to worry about the outside which you can scrub if you want to.

I must agree; I LOVE THIS THING! I have cooked from scratch for far to long and well with a family a five: 3 growing boys ishard enough to make meals that everyone is happy with. I bought this and gave the second one to a friend. I got a rotisserie in retun. LOVE IT ALSO but big mistake! One is not enough. they can make whatever they want whenever they want and I have no worries of the house burning down because one of them forgot what was cooking on the stove or in the oven. Keep up the good work. I just wish I could get the pizza dough recipe correct.

I have the OLDER model…. wondering if I can do a TRADE-IN or UP….I like the new model idea much better. Timer, bigger surface, inserts. My old one still works great, but would love the new RediSetGo. Great for the “single” person :-(

Just ordered the new model. I read where someone lines the cooking area with aluminum foil to protect aganist the teflon coating peeling. How much does the coating peel?
