Jack LaLanne Sings a Duet with Himself

In trying to keep score in the Juiceman vs Jack LaLanne debate, you’ll have to give Jack some points for musical ability. (I shudder to think of what Jay “The Juiceman” Kordich would sound like trying to sing.)

On his old TV show, Jack LaLanne would close each broadcast with a song. In the latest version of the Power Juicer infomercial, Jack sings that theme song again, but as a duet with an old video clip, so that the old Jack LaLanne is singing with the young Jack LaLanne (or at least the middle-aged Jack). It’s a bit strange, but not as creepy as singing with a dead person.

Here are the lyrics of the Jack LaLanne song:

It’s time to leave you.
Let’s say goodbye.
These precious moments just seem to fly.
Now here’s my wish for you.
May the good Lord bless
And keep you too.

  • That last note on the “too” sounds really awful.

  • Every time I see the end of that infomercial on TV, I’m always distracted by the bulge in his pants in the old clip of him singing. You’d think since it was the 50s they would have filmed him from above the waist with pants like that.

  • I think the whole idea was wonderful. He was motivating people and giving God’s blessing. I think he was a great man who helped a lot of people.
