You Can Look as Good as a Snail with Karakol Kream

April 6th, 2007 Paul Lucas

Karakol Kream is a skin cream currently being sold on a Spanish infomercial. “Caracol” is the Spanish word for snail, but they decided to spell the name of their product with Ks, probably because their high-powered legal team wanted to ensure they had a strong trademark.

Throughout the infomercial they show a computer-generated snail, with its shell being magically restored, which is presumably what Karakol Kream will do for your skin.

Here is a clip:

Perhaps the snail has some kind of cultural significance in Latin culture that I don’t know about, because I can’t image that any English-language infomercial for skin care would ever show a picture of a snail (CGI or not) or name the product “Snail Cream” (or even “Snail Kream”).

Would you like to use a skin care product made from a slimy, amorphous bug that crawls in dirt all day long? Or have a face as beautiful as a brown, krinkly, brittle shell of a snail?

Here are a couple more pictures of the star of this infomercial:

And here is a picture of hostess Lucy Garcia. Gotta love the snail shells on her!

  3. Why, just look at a snail. Don’t they have nice skin?

    Actually, I have no idea.

  6. The reason they use snail mucas is because snails regenerate very quickly. The mucas has nothing to do with how the snails rarely get sick, can grow back an eye etc. but people for some reason think it does. So instead of buying a $3 brigg snail, they will go and spend money on this silly cream.

  9. who cares if it is snail cream. It does look like it really works. and some people take drastic measures to look good. (like plastic surgery.) so i guess this is a good cream although its made from snail or should i say karakol.

  12. I’m using it and it works really great. I actually have a lot less acne and my face looks fresher and hydrated. Honestly, for me, its done exactly what the commercial said its gonna do. For all of you guys wondering why a snail…It IS for the fact that they regerate quickly. Its supposed to help our skin regenerate quicker too. Plus it has Vitamin E and Collagen which are good for healthy and beautiful skin. :)

  13. i got mines yesterday. i dont know if its works yet. i put it on last night and when i woke up i felt kinda refresh. so im guessing ill try it for a week and see if it works, even though im puttin snail “creme” on my face which is kinda weird nd nasty.

  14. Hi everyone, the cream worked on my acne, i have less acne as well. It calms my skin and makes it less inflamed. It took about a week or two to see results. Now im just waiting to see what its going to do for my acne scars. I also bought it for my stretch marks, hasnt done much there yet, but ive only been using it for about 3 weeks. But yeah it works for acne and it helps tone the skin.

  15. does it work for a oily facea and whitehead?????

Comment by saul — August 28th, 2007 at 1:35 pm

  16. Yea it works It takes 10 days to see results
And No, the snail has no cultural significance
to our latin culture I mean thats what the product is made of what did you expect to be put on the infomercial an orange?
I think they used the K for the name of the product because there are already other “Cremas de Caracol” (snail creams)

  17. Hey you guys i just bought mine and it looks like a clear hair gel, is it supposed to look like that? Also i use it and it has this subtle smell like warm almonds or something is it supposed to smell like that. ALso i bought it and it dries my skin stiff like if it was a mask, is it supposed to do that?

Also suspicious of this product which has the label written all in english.

  18. My guess is polymysin B sulfate, bacitracin zinc, and/or neomycin sulfate combined with vitamin E. There are other ways to buy these separately or in combination and get the actual results claimed for KK, -but- watching these two Hispanic beaudas makes my day.

  19. I saw this informercial today and couldn’t keep my yes off Maribel Guardia’s constantly exposing her legs, boobs and everything else without getting an X rated show. She looked like a porn star promoting a DVD than a paid celebrity sponsor.

To top her claims is the fact that she has had extensive plastic surgery: face, boobs, stomach, butt, Botox, and was hair extensions along with 3 tons of make up. Yeap, she really defines the natural beauty that some cheap jell cream made by the same rip offs from some Miami company which peddles a bunch of other useless stuff.

  24. Well I just ordered mine today! It’s worth the shot even if it’s a bit pricey because they do guarantee it for 2 months 100%! I will get it Monday and they state it takes about one week to see results. We shall see and I will keep you posted. :)

  25. Well I tried this product and honestly I did see A difference. My face was becoming clear from acne and scars. I am now looking at buying some more because I havent used it a while and my acne is returning.

  26. Jessica, your sister puts Maribel Guardia to shame! She is the true natural beauty of the infomercial. What is her name?

Comment by Emiliano — July 2nd, 2008 at 11:35 am

  27. I know that this stuff really works. I have used another cream very similar and along with the soap. My acne and scars diminished revealing the best skin I have ever had in my life last summer. I will be ordering this soon again. If people can take pills damaging their kidneys without knowing the full ingredients in that, why not try karakol kream?
