If You Fear Feet, Avoid the Kinoki and PedEgg Commercials!
Do you know that the fear of feet is a real medical condition known as Podophobia? Apparently there is even an e-course that claims it can cure this condition. (And it uses NLP, so you know it’s good!)
Whether you suffer from Podophobia or you’re just grossed out by the sight of bare feet, there are two “short form” infomercials currently being aired that you had better try to avoid.
The first is for a product called Kinoki Detox Foot Pads. The theory behind this product is that if you place Kinoki foot pads on the soles of your feet, the pad will draw out all the “toxins” in your body and leave you feeling healthier. As all the “toxins” drain out of you, the Kinoki Foot Pad turns a disgusting brown color (which *PROVES* it’s really working!). Seeing a filthy, brown “foot pad” get peeled off someone’s foot is enough to creep out even the non-squeamish.

The other commercial you may want to avert your eyes from is for a product called PedEgg. PedEgg is a “foot file” that is supposed to remove the dry skin and calluses from feet. In order to effectively make this point, they insist on showing brief shots of nasty, crusty feet!

I have no idea if Kinoki and PedEgg live up to their claims—but I think these commercials will succeed in inducing Podophobia in a lot of otherwise healthy people!

My husband and I were watching TV and the PedEgg comercial came on. From the moment the scabby feet filled our 60 inches of plasma-TV goodness, we couldn’t tear our attention from just how awful this commercial looked. As the gal opened the PedEgg and poured an entire quarter-cup of minced scaly foot-skin into the black trashcan (nice touch, we didn’t want to miss seeing one molecule of that) my usually tolerant husband sat up straight on the couch and responded “BLEH! What the hell was THAT?!” I think the use of the PedEgg could have been demonstrated a bit less graffically. The infomercial gal must have accidentally sanded down one of her toes.

Thank God for Kinoki Foot Pads, I have been concerned about the toxic build up in my body ever since aliens abducted me six years ago. These little miracle pads took care of all the interplanetary toxins, not to mention the alien viruses I was exposed to. My advise to you is to buy a years supply and use them every day, one on each foot and one on your forehead. As an added bonus, the little aluminum foil wrapper the pads come in makes a great hat, shielding your brain from the cosmic rays sent by alien forces in an attempt to program all of humankind for self-annihilation. So do it today, after all the giant frog commands it.

The PedEgg works beautifully. The Kinoki foot pads are a total ripoff.
I’m big on foot health, so it’s safe to say I’d never suffer from podophobia. The Kinoki ads still make me sick though. I mean, people giving airtime to such a fraudulent product…yuck! 😉
