Neckline Slimmer Beauty Gadget is a Pogo Stick for Your Chin

Creepy beauty products that could double as torture instruments have a long history on TV infomercials, including such notable devices as Rejuvenique, Facial Flex, and Derma Wand. The latest entry in this strange and disturbing tradition is the Neckline Slimmer. The Neckline Slimmer “Resistance Toning System” promises to get rid of your sagging jawline by placing the gadget under your chin and moving your head up and down like a kid riding a pogo stick:

Here is the money shot:

You can see a clip of the instructional DVD offered as a bonus at www.BuyNecklineSlimmer.com. There creator Paul Younane takes you through the Neckline Slimmer exercises. As if the Neckline Slimmer wasn’t disturbing enough by itself, the “Jaw Flexion” exercise has you use it while opening your mouth like a guppy, and the “Pre-tension” technique has you use it while plastering a creepy grin on your face, making you look like an animatronic clown. After seeing this clip, I am almost tempted to buy a Neckline Slimmer for myself just so I can experience the full video in all its bizarre glory.

To add to the strangeness of the Neckline Slimmer commercial is that fact that Paul Younane is not a cosmetologist or skin care expert, but a former professional rugby player who works as a fitness trainer.

  • I’m going to get a little late night for a sec, but these neck and jaw slimmer infomercials remind me of that quote from a Truman Capote novel. I paraphrase:
“The only way to make your jaw slimmer is by sucking c*ck.”

You can also make your neck slimmer by…oh, I don’t know, losing weight.

  • Hey, hows about not stuffing your pie hole all the time and lose some weight! Always an excuse, never the truth….. your fat with a double chin! Eat right, exercise and your flabby chin will go away all by itself. And, you saved 20 bucks!

Comment by Dave on May 29, 2009 at 6:44 pm

  • I promise that I’m not a plant. I am a 40yr woman who started using this 2 wks ago. The results are amazing. I haven’t lost any weight, but my jaw line looks so much more defined. The back of my neck was fatiqued for a few days. I guess my muscles were weak. I do look funny while using it and would never want anyone filming me whilst making all of those funny faces.

Comment by Susan on May 30, 2009 at 7:07 am

  • This will tone you neck muscles, but if they’re covered by layers of fat, you’re never going to see a difference.

  • Will the neckline slimmer tighten a turkey neck?

Comment by darlene on June 1, 2009 at 7:00 am

  • For those of you who keep saying “lose wieght” I’ve got news for you…it is a proven fact that having a double chin can also be caused by genetics or bad posture. All the women in my family have double chins. I am 115 lbs, skinny as heck, but I have a double chin that won’t go away. So maybe this might work for someone like me.

Comment by Erika on June 1, 2009 at 2:15 pm

  • Hmm, thinking of getting it.. whats 20 bucks?

Comment by Mia on June 4, 2009 at 7:51 am

  • Thank you Erika. Some people are so stupid. I’m in the same situation. I’m 110 lbs but have a bit of a double chin which I have had forever… Even when I was 80 lbs. So to all you who say to “loose weight”… Go suck a d*c*… 🙂

Comment by Jessica on June 5, 2009 at 9:12 am

  • Thanks, Erika and Jessica. I’m in the same position. I am in shape; eat well and exercise. My face shape just happens to run in my family. So nice try, Dave. Go read a book.

Comment by Beth on June 5, 2009 at 2:50 pm

  • Well, genetics be damned. My Gramma had a double/triple neck, my Mom & sisters do too – and I am going to give it a shot…because the gym is not doing it!

Comment by Kristine on June 6, 2009 at 8:20 am

  • Yeah, people are definitely flashing their ignorance here. I am not overweight either, and neither is my sister, but we definitely have a little bit of a saggy chin from genetics. Otherwise, we are in shape. I’m 26, she’s 22. You can’t tell from the front that our chins sag a bit, but I HATE pictures of me from the side because it’s so obvious in profile (to me, at least, though you’re always your worst critic). I just moved to LA to act and that’s the one thing about me physically that I really wish I could change. I have a VERY young face, and that damn chin makes me look 10 years older in profile. This might be a great way to change it!

  • Ever notice the disclaimer at the bottom of the screen when they show the “before & after” photos? Results not typical means that most people won’t see the results shown. I think they should only be allowed to show “typical” results on ads like this.

Comment by Steve on June 16, 2009 at 8:17 pm

  • First of all, I am no plant, am cynical by nature, etc. Folks are writing ‘lose weight’ and ‘its genetic’ as reasons to blow this off, but exercise has long been a healthy method to address overweight, sagging and other ‘genetic’ issues. Just seems to me exercise shouldn’t be shunned; safer than surgery and far more believable than a ‘miracle cream!’ Also, ‘Results are not typical’ will show on every infomercial – they are, of course, showing the BEST results to sell their product. That perhaps could be more transparent.

    Comment by M. G. on June 19, 2009 at 4:21 am

  • I’m not overweight have never had a double chin. and excersise every day. But I am 46 and no matter what, without sugery sagging skin happens. I’m 5’5″ and weigh 120 lbs, For 20 dollars the cost of one meal out, i’m going to try it surgery is 5,000 and out of the ?.

Comment by janine on June 19, 2009 at 6:52 am

  • Neck flapping is totally unsightly. Perhaps this does look absurd, but if it safe and there are proven results it is worth the investment which is minor. I personally dislike my chin and consider surgery but I would invest in this and daily exercise before going under the knife.

Facial exercise will be commonplace in the future. The face is a vast terrain of muscles that basically are out of shape and flaccid except for the moments we speak or gesticulate. By building the muscle structure underneath like sculpture, the skin can drape and lift. W

It is essential to maintain a proper weight for this to be most effective.

Comment by margaretsmith on June 20, 2009 at 5:37 am

  • I am 117 pounds, I exercise, eat healthy and I have a turkey neck! My mother has it and I now have it but not too bad yet! I know there are exercise to do for this problem (my sister does them… they require the funny faces as welll, but her turkey neck is gone). So maybe this product is worth a try for 20 dollars! They do offer a 30 day money back guarantee, so if after a a couple of weeks you do not see any changes, send it back for a refund. I am going to order one and test it out. I will post my results.

Comment by Sandra Thomas on June 21, 2009 at 7:27 am

  • “Dave” is totally clueless. Age is a big factor not just a person being overweight! The face starts sagging as you get older and you need surgery or a way to tighten those muscles to get a tight jawline again. I am 105 lbs and am starting to sag a bit in the jawline so for only $20 it’s a lot cheaper than surgery and I think I will try it.

Comment by E on June 22, 2009 at 11:47 am

  • This product works. I am 44 and definetly not overweight, however, I had experienced some sagging in the jaw and neckline related to normal aging. If you can exercize and tone other muscles in your body thru strength training, why not facial muscles? I will gladly look like a fool in private to achieve the results that I now show in public.

Comment by Patti on June 22, 2009 at 5:05 pm

  • It is totally insensitive for one to assume that all people with turkey necks or double chins are overweight and are “stuffing their pie holes”.

Some are born with weak chins, and as a person ages, the problem is more pronounced as skin sags.

Maybe “Dave” ought to invest his $20 on a book on Sensitivity Training. I’m taking the $20 and trying out this exercise device.

Comment by Jane on June 23, 2009 at 4:48 am

  • The device looks safe and reasonably priced, so if you can aford it, go for it. I just have a couple of caveats to add. To me, ALL of the before-and-after models appear to have lost weight in the after photos. That doesn’t mean the product doesn’t work, just that it was easier to show noticable results with subjects who lost weight. I guess they figured no one would be looking at the faces, just the necks. Second caveat: Beware. Several reviewers on another board say that the free cream that comes with it doubles the shipping from $7.95 to $15.90, so be forewarned and expecting that doubled shipping cost when you order. Good luck all.

Comment by Jeff on June 26, 2009 at 2:20 am

  • Well – I guess everyone agrees that proper diet and exercise is essential for long term health. And any good personal trainer will work every muscle group with you – except the facial and neck… Is the facial and neck muscles any different than any other muscle group? In theory, this product makes sense. But don’t be fooled.. 1.) It is not $20 bucks. It’s $40 after they throw in all their garbage fees. 2.) Still cheaper than surgery, and department store face cream. It’s a gamble worth taking before moving on to more drastic and expensive measures. I have had mine for one week now. I think I am seeing it already but not sure. I am feeling it. Like any gadget – you actually have to USE it for any hope of a result.

Comment by Marisol on June 29, 2009 at 9:10 am

  • I do the same exercise just using my hands to push up on my jaw while pushing down with my jaw. It works but I do not do it consistently because it is awkward. I think this is worth trying. As I age I notice the sagging. And any fool would know that by lossing more weight the skin would sag even more if the underlying muscles aren’t tone. Its not a miracle just common sense.

  • I was informed that the cost is lots more than $20. You are required to pay for the ship/processing for the “free” firming cream too. The total for this $19.99 gadget (plus $8.00 for that ship/processing fee) will cost you almost $40.00-since you are required to get the freebie “gift”-which will cost you an additional $8.00 to get put in the same box as the exerciser.
    Final cost $19.99+ 8.00+ 8.00 (for the freebie)=$36.00

Comment by Ann on July 3, 2009 at 7:20 am

  • Agree with all those who say it’s not just weight or age. It runs in my family, we all have it. I’m not small, but not grossly overweight either. The dad and I are talking about getting this, why not try it?

Comment by Linda on July 3, 2009 at 8:11 am

  • There is no way this thing works. The idea that neck flab can be burned off in this manner is sheer lunacy. Want to lose your jowl fat? Take up aerobic exercise and quit eating fatty foods.

Comment by PMMF Custodian on July 3, 2009 at 11:51 am

  • PEOPLE….. it is exercise and due to the EXERCISE your neckline will improve. I just don’t know ‘how much’ for each individual.
    TIP:
You can achieve the same by putting an Organge or Apple under your chin and opening and shut your mouth to the point that you feel resistant.
    THAT’S ALL….it will work!
    Why spend $20 bucks?

Comment by Ani Gibuaet on July 5, 2009 at 8:23 am

  • I don’t appreciate many of the comments on here. I gotten down to very little body fat, less than 10% and I still have a turkey neck. If there is something out there that might work I’d be willing to give it a try.

Comment by Matthew on July 5, 2009 at 1:02 pm

  • Not my idea, but free suggestion:

Sit in front of a mirror and tilt your head back slightly then jut your chin forward.
Now lift your bottom teeth over your top lip (you’ll need to slide the top lip down and under the teeth) and grip it with the teeth. Then lift your bottom lip as high as possible over the top lip that’s being gripped covering your teeth as stretching your lower lip as far up as possible. (You can also just place bottom lip as high as possible over top lip, but I think with the teeth grip the exercise works deeper).
Holding that position (you should feel a stretch in your neck)…slowly smile in five slow movements aiming the corners of your mouth towards your temples. Make the smile as wide as possible upward. (You should feel a good pull in your neck, and jowls. Remember with the face, if the muscles get toned, the skin (which happens to be attached to them) will have a toned look too. So work it!
Hold that final position for a count of five (go for the burn!) and then return slowly to the non-smiling position in five slow movements.
    Repeat the exercise 3 times.

  • Worked with a Physical Therapist for spine/posture issues. Neck exercises to help alignment reduced double chin and slimed my neck. No matter your weight, age inevitably plays a factor in your chin and neck sag. It is very challenging to target these muscles, and that is the draw to this device. I think, strictly based on my “neck exercise experience”, this device is worth a try!

  • Try yawning with your mouth completely closed and teeth “clenched”. This might be hard or impossible at first if you aren’t used to it. I’ve been yawning this way for many years so might be the reason I have a pretty good chin line, though not perfect. (I’m nearly 65 and weigh 105 lbs.) At one time I did have a double chin when I weighed 8 pounds more.

Damn, everyone acts like its gonna be there 20 or so bucks that it will affect. If it’s not your money being wasted. SHUT THE HELL UP ABOUT IT. If someone does or does not wanna try something, thats there business. If it were your invention, you would wanna make a few bucks.

  • Facial exercises work if you do them regularly. Exercises don’t always look pretty when your doing them. If you get results that’s what counts. You “men” DO NOT look so hot when you lift weights. I’d rather spend $30-50 dollars on the neckline slimmer and give it a try than spend $1,000s on plastic surgery. I’m 55 and at my perfect weight but still have a sagging jawline and neck.

Comment by Laurie on July 12, 2009 at 11:42 am

  • It makes sense to me that this would work. I am nearly sixty and even though my face is almost flawless and so is my neck, my jowl line is sagging. It started about four years ago and if it was tighter, I would look ten or more years younger!

My father was a tall man 170 pounds at his highest weight and his neck sagged down to his adam’s apple. I thought I was going to inherit my mother’s beautiful chisseled jawline but no.

I’m going to give it a try as I’ve been contemplating surgery and that is the last thing I thought I would ever do!

It may look goofy but it’s not like you’re going to be using it at the mall.

This is just like lifting weights or doing any other strengthening exercise for any other set of muscles. I’m jealous I didn’t think of the damn thing!

  • even though at first it does look like a crock of shit, i think it you constantly train any area of your body you will see results. It does appear as though slimming your neck will take time, this isnt a quick fix thing but the $36 bucks is worth a shot and hey, if it doesnt work for you, there’s always eBay to resell it. And all you ladies don’t need to harp over any extra fat, most men like some meat on their bones, its the swagger that counts 🙂

Comment by Danny on July 15, 2009 at 2:01 am

  • I am a 53 year old women and I have used this for a month and it really works. I am very down-to earth and skeptical of this sort of gimmick, but not only am I starting to have a more defined and younger profile, but the exercisor is strengthening the muscles in the back of my neck where I had surgery. This is a win-win if you ask me. And it’s only a couple minutes a day. Actually, I’m thinking of purchasing another in case they go out of business or the product becomes unavailable.

  • (Website not up yet for a couple weeks)
Okay, I believe that this widget will work with consistent use, but it’s also not necessary. You can create your own resistance and do the same exercise simply by clasping your hands with your thumbs together, placing them under your chin, sitting up straight, and going through the exact same motion as you would with this widget, creating resistance with your thumbs. Good for them for capitalizing on good, old, ordinary muscle resistance training!
Seriously, you don’t need to spend the money to get the same results! Good luck.

  • Has anyone of those people who are bashing this thing, or accusing everyone of being fat, ever read Richard Hittleman’s books on Yoga?
Most yoga exercises for the face and neck look pretty weird, with tongues projecting, and mouths with stretched out smiles… And guess what… they work. The comment #36 by lmh — (July 6th, 2009 at 7:03pm) with instructions about how to do one of the exercises is very good, and almost the same as some yoga ones. Exercise works! Don’t listen to the naysayers. Do the exercises on your own, or try this thing for $20 – 40 bucks. You will probably get out of it, whatever you put into it…

Comment by Paul on July 16, 2009 at 2:12 am

  • Seriously? If you look at the way the people on the commercial are holding their heads and positioning their jaws in the before and after pictures you’ll see they’re different. If you tuck your chin, you’re going to have more of a double chin than if you hold your head higher with your chin out.

Comment by Heather on July 18, 2009 at 8:27 pm

  • LOL get to the point.. does it work yes or no! haha

Comment by ashley on July 18, 2009 at 9:58 pm

  • Some of you are idiots! It’s not to lose weight under your chin! Good grief! It’s to tone up loose skin under the chin. Some people have it naturally, and others as a RESULT of losing weight. This is not touted as some chin fat reducer. It’s talking about tightening the skin under your chin by toning those muscles. Some of you just jump to a conclusion as if you know what you’re talking about and you just sound like little high school girls.

So the question remains, seriously, does this work in toning loose skin under the chin?

Comment by Brad on July 20, 2009 at 9:22 am

  • I just bought the sucker and the shipping nearly doubled the total cost I had to fork out. I may have missed the part about declining the face cream that Jeff mentioned. So, be aware and keep your eyes open.

You can tone a wall butt by running and doing squats. Thus, you should be able to tone a turkey neck with the neck and jaw presses that this gadget delivers.

  • I just saw this commercial for the first time today and while it looked surprisingly hokey, I’m investigating further – thanks for the tete a tete in the blog – great food for thought. I’m a 35 year old male, have run three marathons in the past two years (so I consider myself to in pretty good shape) and yet I can’t get rid of the flab under my neck. My mom has been known to grab it on occasion just to p!ss me off (imagine if I grabbed hers). Anyhow, it never occurred to me to try such a thing, but I have since picked up one of my kids $2 nerf balls and plan to try it out before attempting this contraption.. Keep the results coming. So far nobody who has tried it has suggested that it DOESN’T work. Hmm.

To the ones who are thinking of ordering it via mail, have you checked your local Walgreens? they carry most of the “as seen on tv” products thus saving all the shipping charges and the waiting time.

  • So, those of you who don’t believe this, have you ever done ab crunches? Lifted weights? Exercises to tone your calves? It’s exactly the same principle. The person that posted about yoga is correct. There are also 35-40 year old isometric exercises that are very similar. And they work. This device is simply a gadget to help you do the same types of exercise. I think it will work. I’ve done the isometric and yoga exercises but I would like a device to help me to do the reps more consistently and with more resistance. So, you guys can joke about it all you want – but I’ve had great luck toning other parts of my body with pilates, so I’m gonna get this and try it out. It’s my $20 to waste! And really, is profanity actually necessary to make your point? Some of you obviously went to the school of “play nice together”. Show a little love for an opposing opinion otherwise folks will think you’re in congress. 🙂

  • I had the surgery, and let me tell you, it’s no picnic. Liposuction and they also tighten the muscle under your chin. I’m 5’10” tall and weigh about 148 lbs. I’m not overweight, but my Dad had the “turkey waddle” and it runs in the family. Heck, even when I was in college and weighed 120 lbs, I had it. The surgery was $4,000.00, but to me, it was worth every stinking penny. It hurt like h*ll, and I had a bad reaction from the anesthetic (migraine w/ vomiting) but I’d do it all over again, in a heartbeat. Heck try the $36 thingy, and if it works, great, if not, throw it away and start saving your money.

  • I knew there had to be an alternative to this thing when I first saw it. There is! Just a plain small rubber ball sold in any toy store. You need something firm enough to provide resistance and that’s it. Nerf balls are too soft.

  • The people saying “lose weight” are clueless. I am a fatty fatty bo-batty but thanks to awesome genetics (or possibly giving a lot of head), I have a fabulous, well-defined jawline, while some of my skinny friends have the turkey neck/double chin thing. I was checking out this product out of curiosity over whether such a ridiculous-looking gadget could actually be effective.

Comment by Dolores on July 31, 2009 at 10:30 pm

  • To all the naysayers… I played clarinet and saxophone all my life until a few years and and while nothing else has changed, I can tell my jawline is softer and much less defined since stopping. The instruments provided regular jaw and neck exercises and that’s exactly what this is offering – I am “sold” simply because I already have had the effects of jaw/neck exercises proven to me – including in the opposite direction!

    Comment by R. S. on August 1, 2009 at 4:38 pm

  • Physiotherapists actually reccomend doing chin tucks to strengthen your neck.
    So, this should work.
I would rather save my money and buy a ball with less resistance to start with and then more up to something harder like a tennis ball maybe.

or you could even buy different resistant springs at home depot for like $1 each.

I also think those hand exercisers with springs would be better as you can also exercise your wrists with those and they are more durable.

Comment by Rachel canada on August 2, 2009 at 3:29 am

  • Okay, the people that are saying “lose weight, eat right” that’s not necessarily true. I’ve had a turkey neck since I was a toddler, hereditary in my case, and underweight for most of my life, STILL have a turkey neck. If I can avoid having surgery to fix this problem, then 20 bucks is a small price to pay. So, I’m hoping for the best and wish the rest of you luck!

  • Um, actually losing weight does NOT make your double chin go away. Not unless you EXERCISE that area too. And the Neckline Slimmer, for all it’s silliness, is an EXERCISE MACHINE same as the Bowflex or the Thigh Master.

I’m sure it doesn’t tighten skin as when you’re heavy and you lose weight you still need plastic surgery to remove the skin. But it probably does help jaw muscles firm up the same way sit ups work for your stomach.

Most of the time double chins can ONLY be removed with plastic surgery. Same as sagging breasts can ONLY be lifted with plastic surgery. No amount of dieting and jazzercise can make your boobs lift up and be perky. But there’s no reason the NS can’t help tighten the muscles before you go to the surgeon.

  • Notice how the photos are fake…the women have there chins tucked in the Before photo and they have their heads lifted up in the After photo. The After photo is cropped to hide it…it’s just like wrinkle creams…they squint for the before and relax for the after photo…LAME!

  • I’ve had this for two or three weeks ($30 at an As Seen on TV store, no video and no cream). I just started spring #2. I don’t see too much change but when I stroke the area with my fingers, it definately feels tighter under the skin – so much so that I keep grabbing the hand mirror and checking for a difference. I will say that the area right behind my chin bone is now tucked up a bit and then the area running straight down from the center of my chin. I am guessing this progress will eventually spread “sideways”. I am 56.

  • Thank you Barbara, I don’t care whether anyone is overweight, or have been charged more, but that is important, when these products purposely steal your money. But, I would like to hear from someone who has used the product faithfully for one month and tell us all about their results.

  • mmm… I am still wondering like many if it works. I wish someone who has use it as directed can share.

What’s clear is that the creator got a great money machine, since people are willing to pay even without knowing if it works. I have to come up with a similar product

  • I am also on the slim side but have always had a saggy chin. On my last birthday I treated myself to a spa day facial, and asked the very excellent aesthetician what I could do, short of a facelift, to get rid of it. Her reply: you don’t need a facelift, its a muscle like everything else, find something that provides resistance and use it under your chin. Voila! I am going to buy this product and let you know.

  • I don’t know if this thing works or not (wouldn’t mind trying) but I would just like to say for everybody out there who is saying “just lose weight” that having a double chin doesn’t mean you’re fat. I am a perfectly healthy teenage girl and i have the makings of a double chin, just like my mom and her mom. My best friend is thinner than I am and eats even better than I do and she also has a bit of a double chin, just like her mom (and she almost looks anorexic because she’s allergic to many foods and it’s hard for her to gain weight).

  • I’ve been slim most of my life. I’m 40, 5″8, 140. But, by looking at my face, you’d think I weigh 300 pds. I’ve been using this product for 1 month, and the results are not overnight, but my neck is becoming slimmer gradually. BTW some of these replys are a sad commentary to the intelligence level of USA.

Comment by Kathy on September 3, 2009 at 9:07 am

  • This product works. Have been using for 10 days and the difference is noticeable. I am 62, slim, contemplating surgery because the sagging neck and jowls had to go. And this is working! I am thrilled – buying for my friends. And Susan – you are right – we are a nation of morons.

  • I’ve seen the Neckline Slimmer commercial at least twenty times. I’ve gone online to necklineslimmer. com and the pictures do look REAL and are convincing. Doing something is better than doing nothing at all! I could probably find enough change in the bottom of my couch to buy the thing, so it’s not like I’m going to lose anything by giving it a try.

Plenty of people on this site say the product works and they’ve experienced positive results. Plus, the creator of this blog site has links to purchase the product throughout so he/she must have some inkling of faith in the product to promote it. I’ll write back as soon as I get it and give you some REAL user experience info.

  • My jaw was broken when I was a kid and it’s never been the same. I have poor posture but I don’t weigh much. I’ve always had a small chin and my muscles get very tired. Sometimes I get too tired to even chew food so skip meals regularly. I know that’s not good but I’m not gonna starve to death. Anyway. Having done pilates and dance for years I KNOW that toning specific muscles will totally do the trick. This product looks great. I’d rather try this than makeshift something that wont allow the full flex that’s required to smooth out all the mini muscles in the face. Like manly weight lifters that bulk up their muscles without smoothing them out with proper stretches, I’m afraid by using a ball I’ll only increase some of the muscle mass and look more like a dyke in the end.

  • Gentle bloggers, don’t fret over odious comments made by infantile drivellers like Tyler. Pity them as they are, more than likely, fat, redneck, under loved and brainless beings who don’t have any other form of life they can share. They also (obviously) don’t have or understand the problem. I would venture that this is due to so much use of the Truman Capote method mentioned in the first blog.

Do what you want and live life to it’s fullest.

  • I think I will get this item. I don’t have a fat net just notice a little bulging in center muscle that runs from chin to throat. I hear that muscle serarates as you get older. I am 43 and started noticing it last year and the price is worth giving it a try. My husband thinks the product looks stupid and will react when he sees I bought it but that’s better than reacting to a ever growing saggy neck.

  • This thread is FAKE! I was reading these testimonials and I could easily tell that many (if not all) of them were written by the same lame writer. “Come on, try it! What do you have to lose?” Um… $20? No… $36. Age happens. Just try to be happy and stop worrying about some skin under your chin. When you are dying some day, that skin will be the last thing you think is important.

  • exercising this area will make a difference. I started doing some simple neck exercises when I noticed my chin starting to sag (I am 55 now). I noticed a remarkable difference after a few sessions.
    Did not cost me anything.

I noticed this device in CVS and Bed, Bath and Beyond for 19.99. I do not think that is too extravagant. The ugly comments by some people reveal an ugly inside. Nothing wrong with wanting to look a little better.

Comment by carol on October 6, 2009 at 6:45 pm

  • I bought it off amazon to save on the annoying freebie costs. It cost 21 dollars.

3 weeks in and I can feel some results. I use it every day for about ten minutes. I am a 6’4″ male who weights 220 lbs. While not particularly thin, I’m certainly not overweight.

One thing I’ve noticed is that its firming up the sides of my chin (like, underneath my molars), but hasn’t done as much for the center (under my chin). Still, I like where its going.

Comment by ej on October 7, 2009 at 12:38 pm

  • Ok, why does everyone assume that a person has to be fat to have a chin that LOOKS like it is fat? If my jaw bone was longer it would probably solve what I perceive as a problem. I swear to you that I am 5’5″ tall and weigh 112 pounds soaking wet. I have a small frame and am very athletic. I work out hard 3 times a week. I have an awesome abdominal area and am a size 0 or 2 depending on the clothing line. Anyway – I bought the neckline slimmer 2 months ago and have been very happy with the results. I certainly don’t need to lose any weight and I am crazy enough to think abdominal work has toned my abs – so why wouldn’t this work on the muscles that surround my jaw?

Comment by Danielle on October 9, 2009 at 8:04 am

  • This product is actually just a stronger resistance for your neck muscles then the typical facial excersize. If you dont want to spend the $20, then press your tongue up against the roof of your mouth and move your head up and down in the same motion as the neck slimmer. The tongue is suppose to keep the muscle in your throat tight as you tone the muscle.

Comment by sandie on October 18, 2009 at 5:47 pm

  • For all the idiots that keep saying that people with a sagging jaw line or double chin are fat and should just lose weight to solve the problem are showing your ignorance. These problems are often due to collagen and elastin loss which is natural with aging or retrognathia in which the chin is recessed causing this appearance. The toning of the neck and submandibular muscles could potentially help to lessen the sagging appearance. Even if it is due to excessive weight, toning the muscle will increase fat burning if the person exercises regularly and watches their diet. Go back to school. There is a saying that goes like this: if you don’t have something nice to say, shut up!

I am an size 2 – 4 and even at my thinnest of 114 I have always had a little extra under my chin!!!! Its hereditary and had NOTHING TO DO WITH BEING FAT!!! Sorry!! But dont overdo it, because I actually started right out medium resistance about FOUR minutes a day vs TWO- saw great results but also realized you CAN develop a manly looking jaw this way. Hahaha…….

  • Saw this product infomercial when it first started. As I too thought to purchase this item, I mentioned it to my husband. He waited and viewed the infomerical. He thought about this for a while, did some research on resistance training and the muscles of the face; result is that I did not order the product, instead my husband went to the local discount store and bought a selection of rubber balls. Some are hollow and small, others are solid and about the size of a soft ball. I do the same “exercise” with these as seen with the device. RESULT…My jaw line and double chin are looking tighter. We have taken “before” pictures and have done measurements. My advice….keep you forty dollars and go spend ten at the discount store!

  • At 54 I’ve been told I look 40, however I am developing a double chin over the last 2 years.I feel it ages me and I find myself trying to jut out my chin to make it less noticeable around people. I bought this product for $20 at cvs. I am hoping it does work as surgery is not an option. If not I will accept my chin and be happy for my good health. Good luck to all and God bless.

  • Wow, I feel very fortunate. I’m 60ish and my neckline is still pretty firm. Must be good genes, and possibly, years of exercise & good health habits.. For instance: Use the latest good skin care products (not necessarily the most expensive). *There are supplements which contribute to the production of collagen & elasticity of the skin from the Inside Out.. do the research. Also, there are overall exercises which include the neck muscles, like lifting weights, and Palates, which is known for firming the neck area. Still, the easy route is appealing, so I’m thinking of trying the neckline slimmer to keep mine in shape. Best wishes..

  • Seriously people, why the hype? Even if it DOES work, will this make you happier? If your happiness is hinging on an unsightly chin, then your problems are larger than you think.

Buy it or don’t as it doesn’t matter to me. I really don’t give a flying fudgsicle if my chin droops a bit as I am thrilled with the person I am.

Before the debate begins, I am 52, 5’5″ tall, 155 lb., a former Beauty Pageant winner (3 times), runway model in university and now…just a happily married woman who loves her children, grandchildren, husband, family and job.

When I die, I doubt my epitaph will read “She did nothing about her double chin”.

    Sheesh.

  • I’m 58. I bought this on Ebay for $8. got it 2 weeks ago. I’ve been consistantly using it twice a day. Although my “turkey” hasn’t gone away, my neck is a lot more defined and the lines on my chin are flattening. I don’t know how far this will work but it’s a lot cheaper than surgery and I’m surely willing to keep going with it. Lighten up people and give it a chance. It might be a mouse trap. Who cares what the guy did who figure it out? He figured it out before you did. Give it a chance.

I could feel the muscles working..dont believe me..Try it right now. Im sure you have something near you…this device is the same idea. • I found that the NS won’t work if left sitting on the corner of my desk. So, I decided to go for the Lifestyle Lift ($7,500) instead. All signed up and date set, I started reading the online reviews and scared myself to death. I have now decided to pull the NS off the desk and start using it. Three days and I can feel the muscles in my jaw and neck a bit sore – just like any other exercise plan for a person who hasn’t exercised. My own fault. I plan to keep using the NS for at least six weeks and then make a decision on the surgery after seeing the results.

Comment by Brenda on May 20, 2010 at 12:27 pm

  • Exercise is exercise. . .it tightens and firms the rest of our body why wouldn’t it firm the facial muscles? And the face has a lot of muscles to firm! I’ve been using it for two days and can feel a difference in the way my cheek muscles feel. . .I know it’s working already and with consistency. . .I will see results. I also plan on beginning the yoga facial exercises. . .for the money it was very worth the purchase. Perhaps a rubber ball will work too. . .but from a psychological standpoint people are more apt to use a “machine” than a rubber ball. That’s why health clubs work. . .they offer machines for use. . .while “home remedies” often fall flat. Either way — exercising the muscles of the neck, jawline and face will work! If you doubt that, then perhaps you should become better informed on the benefits of exercise.

Comment by mubeen on June 10, 2011 at 8:45 am

  • In my case it has NOTHING to do with being overweight. I am 52 and started noticing the “turkey chin and sagging neck” a few years ago, and its getting worse. I am not overweight and have NEVER had this…in fact, my neck was always one of my better assets, as it is long and slim. In photos, my face looks acceptable, if not good for my age, but the neck and chin MUST be dealt with because they make me look 62+. I purchased this at a drugstore for $20 and am willing to give it a shot….it sure beats surgery!….even if it takes 6 months, it would take every bit of that to find a surgeon, go through the preliminary prodecures, the surgery, and the hellacious recovery….so what have I got to lose….except $20, which is a drop in the bucket compared to the cost of surgery. I’ll post again in 3 months to report the results.

  • Ladies, Ladies,
keep it simple! I’ve been using this technique for years and years, well before this Neckline gadget thingy was even invented!! I use an empty pump action bottle, in my case a Botanic Skin Brightening Cleanser bottle from Boots which has a strong resistance, when pushing down. In order to make it more comfortable on the chin, I wrap a cotton sock over the lever and press down with my chin, just like the ladies do in Paul Youane’s videos. I am 60 and I have no jowles and enjoy a well toned neckline. It all started with a Carex Handwash bottle (£1.20)about 5 yrs ago, but found the resistance when pressing down too low after a few weeks. Then I discovered the Botanic bottle. This needs more push when pressing down the lever, hence I’ve enjoyed a perfectly toned neckline for years. Boy oh boy, if only I’d known then that I could haver made a fortune selling this simple idea. Alas, money isn’t everything. I’m happy with my toned neckline the simple and cheap way.
    Good luck to you all
